After playing too much pickleball, I developed tendonitis, leading to excruciating pain. Despite trying numerous pain relief creams, the discomfort persisted, making simple tasks like picking up a glass of water a challenging ordeal. I didn’t want to use too much ibuprofen as it’s hard on the kidneys, so I even did acupuncture, which all of those helped for a little bit. But then I’d play again, only to experience the pain again. But pickleball brought me so much joy, I didn’t want to quit.

During a particularly tough emotional period, after the loss of loved ones, pickleball became my sanctuary. It served as a form of therapy, allowing me to discover moments of joy and laughter, and to stimulate my endorphins. It was essential for my emotional release..

After enduring pain for many years, a pivotal moment occurred when my friend Fen, who is Asian, shared with me a traditional herbal pain relief cream formulated by her remarkable Taiwanese doctor.
